THE LEADING SUICIDE RISK ASSESSMENT

THE CLEAREST SIGNAL

LIVES SAVED

Mission

Our mission is to provide the best suicide risk assessment for healthcare organizations and schools.  Patients and students are essential subject experts regarding their suicidal ideation and behaviors.  The gold standard eC-SSRS ensures standardized data collection and greatest honesty regarding this stigmatized topic.  eC-SSRS provides clinicians with the clearest signal of suicide risk on which to base clinical decision-making and establish safety and treatment plans.

Vision and Values

We seek to transform suicide risk assessment and save lives through the evidence-based advantages of electronic data capture directly from patients.

We live by Osler’s dictum, “Begin with the patient, continue with the patient, and end with the patient.”

Goal

MERET Solutions provides scientifically-sound psychometric assessment to guide suicide risk assessment.  Our primary goal is to reduce signal noise in the collection and transmission of patient suicide risk data to healthcare providers and for school screenings.

Noise arises from several sources:

  • Interviewer Variability

    • Different clinicians ask questions, well, differently. The same clinician interviews differently depending on the patient or the day. This variability reduces signal accuracy.

  • Sensitive Subjects and Candor

    • With sensitive individuals and stigmatized subjects, especially suicidal ideation and behavior, computer interviews are more sensitive than face-to-face clinician assessment.  Greater candor of computer based suicide risk assessments has been documented repeatedly for 50 years.¹
